Our Story

Janine’s Frostee was established in 1956 by Raymond and Lydia Millier. The Millier’s had two twin boys, Richard and Robert, and one daughter, Janine. This explains the name of the restaurant “Janine’s Frostee”. The Milliers owned the business from 1956 until 1976. During their time of ownership the Milliers developed the drive-in into a warm, family friendly place to go. Their basic beliefs were to provide their customers with quality food and ice cream at very fair prices.

In 1976 Janine’s Frostee was sold to Henry J Morrissette. He and his wife Germaine, along with the help of their 5 children decided to embark on a food service career, ownership of Ware’s own Janine’s Frostee. In the first 20 years of being open for business, Janine’s developed quite a loyal following of customers. The Morrissettes had the same kind of business plan in mind. Year after year went by and the menu kept on growing. More choices, better quality, and friendly service were among the every day standards. As each year passed, the family strove to take the business to new levels of excellence, all the while keeping the same family values that were instilled from the beginning.

In 2005 Henry sold “The Frostee” to his son Roger. Being the ambitious young man he is, Roger welcomed the challenge to continue this “Family Tradition”. With the addition of an Annual Car Show, various charitable events throughout the season, radio promotions & live broadcasts, a “Frostee Jingle”, daily specials, and now a Senior Citizen Discount Day, Roger has taken “The Frostee” to new heights. By keeping the customers as the primary focus, the Morrissette Family has been able to better serve it’s community throughout the years. The business plan has remained the same. Serve the very best food, drink, and ice cream that you can, for a very reasonable price, and doing it in a polite and friendly way. That’s why people say… “Janine’s Frostee is worth the drive from anywhere!”
